What Is a Mangosteen?

The mangosteen is not a newly learned fruit but has been online for thousands of years. The mangosteen is located generally in Southeast Asia.

The white mangosteen inner fruit is served as a sweet. It contains almost 5 grams of fiber which is surprising for a fruit that is about the size of a tangerine.

The reddish exterior fruit when crushed has been used as a dye but its real benefits are found in its chemical composition. Pertaining to hundreds of years, local have used it as a poultice and a tea to heal sores, cure indigestion and countless other ailments. Because it is a fruit, mangosteen is merely now being studied clinically in “double blind” studies to ascertain its results.

Researchers though have reviewed the fruit and established that it is extremely high, in fact many times above other natural foods, in anti-oxidant content. One would literally have to drink gallons of green tea, for example, to match the antioxidant content of as few as two ounces of pure mangosteen juice.

Regular consumption of mangosteen juice may have a tremendous effect on the body. Some doctors have explained that this the juice should be used even more frequently than red juice.
